Have you tried any other Mario Badescu products?
So many youtubers have been touting Mario Badescu drying lotion for a while now. I thought it was too good to be true to just slap on a little on your acne/breakout at night, go to bed and wake up in the morning with the blackhead all dried up. I was too skeptical to try it and the $ 17 price point just seemed a little steep for me. But after some hormonal breakouts completely trashed my face last month I had to cave in. And boy was I given a run for my money. This thing is seriously the best $ 17 I have a ever spent! Every time a pimple pops up on my face I dont freak out anymore as I know it will be gone by tomorrow morning.

In the past year I tried a number of different mascaras. I have put together four that are worth mentioning. I will start with the one that didnt work for me - The Sephora mascara - this mascara's wand was just a no no for me. The wand was just way too big. It felt like it could poke my eye! I enjoyed both the Benefit Roller lash and Maybelline lash sensational. I feel like these two mascaras have the same or very similar wands. They are both ok but if given the choice to only pick one I would have to pick the Maybelline lash sensational because of its cheaper price point even though the Benefit roller lash has a better formula. For me the winner is the Clinique High Impact mascara. Everything about it just feels right - the formula and the wand are perfect especially for people with extremely curly lashes like me. This wand is able to get in between the lashes with ease. I will definitely be repurchasing this one.
For years I have been on the hunt for a perfect shampoo and conditioner, and now I can safely say I have found exactly what I have been looking for, in the Burt's Bees Mango hair care duo. I have tried a lot of stuff out there, be it drug store or high end, but something was always off until I found these gems. These are sulfate free, therefore they do not strip my hair and after every wash my hair is shiny, moisturized and smells amazing.
Another selling point for me was that they are super affordable (about $8 each). What more can a girl ask for? This duo meets all my expectations and even exceeds them - My hair is happy :) What have you been using lately? Well since I have to wear closed shoes in Lab even though its summer, I decided that I might as well do it in style (but still on a budget :P) H&M came to the rescue. I got some really cool flats that I can dress up or down. Yayy me! Surprisingly the brown ones were the cheapest but are the most comfortable. And to think that I nearly didn't get them>>> I bought the brown ones the last!! The blue ones got me with that bow! The print ones have a a gold shimmer that I just couldn't resist!
Oh H&M why do you make me love you so.... An ode to all women out there; You are all beautiful just the way you are! "You and I" is one of my favorite songs off of John Legend's latest album and then this video comes out! No words to describe this. Just wonderful! I just finished The Happiness Project last night. I wanted to continue with the next book in the series; Happier at Home but it will have to wait because I just picked up #Girlboss! I have heard so much about #Girlboss I had to read it. I am going to try a chapter or two per night and see how that goes. Its a small book so I will probably be through it soon enough. The Happiness project was an amazing read but took me months to finish... in my defense I had a busy schedule these past months but I loved all of it and I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series. I would advise taking your time with The Happiness project as Happiness should not be rushed ;)
I do not wear much makeup unless its a special occasion or its one of those days i just feel like it (very few days!). I try to take care of my skin as well as I can and the best way i know how is to find products that work for me and stick to them. I tend to react to new products so as soon as I find something that works for me I am hooked! From this picture I probably look like a product junkie (which I might secretly be!), but let me break it down and show you what I use and when I use it! I have used a number of shower gels in the past, like Dove and Nivea but lately St Ives exfoliating body wash has been doing it for me! For a lazy exfoliator like me it is godsend as i don't have to try to remember when was the last time I did a proper exfoliation as this wash does it for me everyday! Cetaphil is very moisturizing and is one of the few lotions that don't leave my skin looking ashy and dried out. Everyone needs sunscreen and who can say no to the natural Yes-to-Cucumbers SPF30 sunscreen?? For the face I have to start with the St Ives Apricot scrub! I have been using it for years and no other scrub has ever managed to come close to St Ives for me. As i said earlier I have really sensitive skin so I do not scrub everyday as its too harsh for me. I exfoliate twice a week and that is perfect. Daily I use the Cetaphil facial cleanser which is very gentle but does a very good job. I don't use toner everyday but when i do I swear by T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel! My daily moisturizer is the YestoCarrots nourishing cream with SPF15. Something new has just come into the mix however... I was running out of my Cetaphil facial cleanser so I went to buy a new one. Unfortunately they didn't have it so I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and buy the Simple moisturizing facial wash! I had been eyeing it for a while now and a friend had told me it was pretty good. A lot of people say its good to adjust your skin regimen accordingly as the seasons change so i decided that I needed something like Simple for summer. When I saw they were selling the facial wash in a bonus pack with the Replenishing facial lotion for the price of one the Cheapo in me rejoiced and my decision was made simpler (get it get it??? ;) So i bought the two and i have to say so far so good I am loving them. The wash is gentle as they claim and the lotion is not heavy at all, it feels good. Score!!
I was really craving a chocolate cake and it was real late to call my Mom and ask for her recipe. The craving was too much so I googled a recipe that looked similar to hers and Jennifer from Foodess came to my rescue with just the perfect one! This recipe was easy to follow. However I didnt have coffee because I dont drink it so I just substituted that with a cup of strong tea. Also it states that it should bake for 35 mins but my cake took 45 mins to be perfectly cooked! It was easy to make and only 15 mins preparation time!
Enjoy Decided to take a leap of faith and got my brows waxed on a whim! turned out to be the best on-the-fly decision I have ever made. Was doing some shopping when I ended up at a Benefit cosmetics booth and their Brow booth seemed to be calling my name. Have never done my brows before (eek) but it was a breeze with the Benefit people. Not expensive and not that painful either. I will definitely be doing it again in a month or so. Also got myself their Gimme brow product to brush on my brows since they are sparse. It gives a natural look and since my brows were mapped and shaped it opens up the face! I am in love.
